About the Pattern

I knitted this rectangular shawl to wear with my outfit for a wedding which was held in early March. The day was fairly typical as it was fine but with a cold, blustery wind and so it certainly kept me warm on the day.

The yarn used is 100% Woolhunter 4ply although you could use any of my sockweight yarns as well but this would give a pleasing larger mesh finish.

This is very well travelled wrap, having started life in Pembrokeshire. From there I took it with me, knitting all the way, to Los Angeles and up to Mammoth Mountain before returning to the UK and the wedding. However you do not have to travel this far to knit it !

How it's done

It was knitted using a pair of 5.5 mm (US 9) straight knitting needles and a form of Turkish Rib Stitch and Moss stitch. The tension/gauge is unimportant.

I used my own Woolhunter yarn but it is suitable for any sockweight yarn. If you would like some advice please contact me using the "Feedback" link at the top of the page. I am also quite happy to discuss making a custom colourway for you for use in this wrap or with any of my other patterns.

This pattern is for sale from the Woolhunter shop. I can either send it through the post or electronically in pdf format.
