About the Pattern

I had been toying with the idea of knitting a pair of socks using a my Almerboo Aran weight yarn for a long time. When I dyed this colourway called Strawberry Sundae, I loved it so much that I could barely wait for it to dry. Once it was dry it was straight onto the needles!

These socks are really easy to make and feel super snuggly on the feet. Great for playing couch potato in or even for keeping your feet warm whilst knitting !

Almerboo is a mixture of 50% Alpaca, 30% Merino and 20% Bamboo.

The pair pictured were made using one 100 gram skeins.

How it's done

When I made these socks I in fact used two skeins (200 grams total)as I knitted them longer in the leg thanthe standard pattern. If you decide to purchase and want the longer version you will need TWO skeins of handpainted Woolhunter Almerboo Aran yarn and not the one as advertised on the pattern page. You will merely then haveto knit the leg part of the pattern longer ie repeat the Ringwood pattern a few more times to suit the lengthyou require.

Tension/Gauge is 5 Stitches per inch in stockinette stitch using 1 set (5 pins) of double pointed 4 mm/US 6 needles. You may wish to adjust the needles up or down to get the correct gauges.

You will also need 1 Large "eyed" darning needle.

This pattern is for sale from the Woolhunter shop. I can either send it through the post or electronically in pdf format.
