About the Pattern

These socks were made for my friend Ceri. She really loves girly colours and especially pink !

They knit up really quickly and the patterning which looks impressive is actually very easy and represents stylized Prince of Wales Feathers as Ceri (pronounced Kerry) hails from Cardiff.

The pair pictured were made in Woolhunter Blue Faced Leicester DK yarn using colourway Sugar Babe.

How it's done

I made these socks using 100 grams of handpainted Woolhunter Blue Faced Leicester DK yarn which has a length of circa 225 metres. This will make one pair of women's medium sized socks shoe size 4-7/US 6-9. The finished foot length is approx 9½ inches but this can be adjusted by knitting extra/less rows to suit your feet. Similarly the finished foot circumference is 8 inches.

Tension/Gauge is 8 Stitches per inch in stockinette stitch using 1 set (5 pins) of double pointed 3 mm/US 2-3 needles. You may wish to adjust the needles up or down to get the correct gauges.

How it's done

But, a word of warning !

These socks were so popular that we were scared they would be stolen so we had to employ Widget Security Services to guard them !
