This sock pattern is simple and straightforward and would be ideal for your first sock project. It is knitted on four pins, using the fifth pin as your working needle thus eliminating the need for all those fiddly stitch markers. By simply leaving a long tail thread when casting on you always know where you are in the round.
Who said knitting socks is difficult ?
The pair pictured can be made using just one skein of Woolhunter Sockweight yarn. The colourway used in this picture is Hippy Chick.
You can make these socks using one skein (100 grams) of handpainted Woolhunter 7525M, Superwash BFL, Luxxie, Slinky or Ultrasoft Sock to name but a few. This will make one pair of women's medium sized socks for shoe size 4-7 (US 6-9). Finished foot length is approx 9½ inches but this can be adjusted by knitting extra/less rows to suit your feet. Similarly the finished foot circumference is 8 inches.
Tension/Gauge is 8 Stitches per inch in stockinette stitch using 1 set (5 pins) of double pointed 2.5 mm (US 2-3) needles. You may wish to adjust the needles up or down to get the correct gauges.
You will also need 1 Large "eyed" darning needle.
This pattern is for sale from the Woolhunter shop. I can either send it through the post or electronically in pdf format.
